Football chants again...

And picking up the story of football chants from yesterday, the BBC website reports that FIFA, the world football governing body, have pledged to take more vigorous action against teams and whole Football associations in an attempt to crack down on racist chanting.

And here's a link to the Kick It Out! anti-racist website.

I think its good that they are finally doing something about it, but i dont think its the biggest move to make a change. i think that next time it happens,i.e. where a black player is subjected to racism, all the footballers, on both teams should all leave the footballpitch as a sign of respect and humanity because overall its not fair...what do you think?

I agree - that would be the clearest message to racists, but the players would need the support of the professional bodies (like UEFA, FIFA or the PFA) if it was going to happen.

If teams with black players walked off when there was racist chanting, and games were lost (or forfeited) as a result, the racists would win. So, I'd definitely support teams walking off, so long as they didn't get punished for it in the end.
